Santa Cruz Virtual Colloquium & Site Share Resources and Info Please review all the info below carefully.
Colloquium and Sites Shares are an opportunity for teachers to publicly share growth in connection to their goals through Colloquium or a Site Share is a powerful form of professional development. This is a requirement because when teachers engage in this process they:

Colloquium Dates:
Pre-Colloquium Huddle at 3:45!

Colloquium Agenda (4:00-5:00)
- Opening and Overview (10 min)
- *Small Group Sharing (30 minutes)
- 6 min to share/teacher
- 2 min to debrief - share appreciations
- Switch
- Small Group Debrief
- Whole Group Debrief (10 minutes)
- Closure and Feedback (5 min)
Mentor Expectations
- Work with teachers and site administrators in determining which type of sharing will best foster each teacher’s professional growth
- Collaborate with teachers in preparing to share
- Coordinate, as appropriate, the sharing experience. For example, working with mentors at shared sites, site administrators, and other leaders for whom attendance may be appropriate.
- Facilitate small group discussion (possibly in breakout rooms)
- Record attendance and key learnings in a CAL
- At the conclusion of the sharing, give a copy of the CAL to leadership and Patti
Mentor Colloquium Duties
- Monitoring PTs
- EACH mentor monitor’s their own PT’s in the main session and:
- Greets each PT, via private messages in the chat as they enter the space
- Check to see that their naming convention is accurate: Group #, First, Last Example: 4. Melissa Roberts
- If needed, walks the PT, step by step, in how to fix the naming convention as needed. Message privately using chat if the name needs to be changed.
- EACH mentor monitor’s their own PT’s in the main session and:
- Small Group Facilitator - EACH mentor serves as a small group facilitator:
- Once in breakout:
- Double check that everyone is there
- Are you missing anyone? Is there someone that shouldn’t be there? “Request help” and proceed with facilitation:
- Note the names of everyone in your group on the CAL during introductions
- Review the guidelines for sharing
- Invite a volunteer to share
- Keep time - Tip: You could ask your teachers to keep their time using their phone timer
- Repeat
- Debrief using the CAL - close the experience
- +/delta on the process
- Next Steps
- Send the CAL to Marvilyn to verify attendance

Mentor Small Group Facilitation
- Introductions (2 min)
- Name
- Context (grade level, subject area)
- Mentor records names in Colloquium CAL for attendance
- Teacher shares ILP goal(s) and the story of their growth (6 min - see possible prompts in this Teacher Resource, also below)
- 2 minutes to debrief teacher sharing by sharing appreciations
- Switch
- Small Group Debrief (5 minutes - record feedback using Colloquium CAL)
- You will be prompted to return to the main session for whole group closure.
Mentor Colloquium Prep
Prior to your teacher’s Colloquium:
1. Share with teachers their Group Number
2. Practice with them changing their screen name to align with the
following conventions: Group Number. First Name, Last Name
3. Change your screen name using the following conventions:
- First Name, Last Name
- Example: 4. Melissa Roberts
talking points to speak to during the share. Note: We will not be sharing screens in
the breakouts. Teachers may reference this resource to support their sharing.

Teacher Expectations and Group Norms
The expectation is that teachers will share their professional growth/story/learnings with a group of colleagues. In addition, group norms will assist in participants having a positive experience:
